General project aim: To contribute to better life quality and economic independence of youth in Kragujevac and nearby municipalities, through increasing their employability and employment opportunities on Serbian labour market.

Specific project aim: To increase employability and employment opportunities of young people from Kragujevac and nearby municipalities by developing specialized ICT competences for JAVA and JavaScript programming, highly demanded on the labour market, through development and implementation of the work-based learning program with the dual track elements


Project description

The project initiative titled “ICT Cluster Academy Kragujevac 2017” intends to contribute to reduction of unemployment of youth on the territory of the city of Kragujevac and its surroundings. On the other hand, there is serious lack of qualitative IT stuff needed for rapidly growing ICT industry. This project initiative is focused on the ICT sector of the City of Kragujevac, and ICT companies, members of the ICT Cluster of Central Serbia especially.

Project consists of several groups of activities which will lead to realization of the expected outcome of the Project.

The core activity of the action is the work based capacity building program for IT specialists, consisted of: a) 5 months specialized ICT training for JavaScript and JAVA programming languages and b) 3 months’ internship in selected ICT companies. The training is designed and developed based on carefully identified and analyzed needs of the companies. The aim of the program is to bridge the gap between companies` demands for the certain ICT knowledge and skills and existing competencies of young unemployed people in the labor market. This way we provide 1 effective solution for 2 identified problems: unemployed youth on one side and deficit of skilled ICT experts to meet the needs of the companies, on the other

Expected project results:

  1. Developed and promoted training program and selected candidates for the ICT Cluster Academy
  2. Conducted trainings and apprenticeships within the ICT Cluster Academy program
